When Is Prime Day, and Is It the Right Time to Buy a Board?

Amazon runs its main Prime Day event in the middle of July and a second one, usually branded Big Deal Days, in October. For paddle boards the timing is close to ideal in July, when brands are clearing the current season, and even better in October, when they are clearing everything and would rather not warehouse it over winter. The trade in October is choice: the popular sizes go first.

Prime Day is not the only good window. Boards also drop at the end of August, over Black Friday, and quietly in February when new models are announced. If you need a board this weekend, none of this matters. If you can wait six weeks, it is worth several hundred dollars.
